nCompass was setup, 13th November 2008 as a social enterprise. The Government Office of the Third Sector defines Social Enterprises as “businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners.” Our mission is “to develop a high quality enterprise specialising in Training & Health Care. nCompass is currently involved in promoting equality and diversity across all strands, including black and ethnic minorities and the (LGBT) Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Tran's communities. ____________________________________________________________
Just a thought
"In society with globalisation: migration being at the forefront of many issues challenging the world, the population of the UK needs to be educated in the cultural differences more than at time in our history. Therefore family learning is more important than ever before, not only with respect to cultural barriers in the BME community but surprisingly within our own culture. These include equality in the workplace for men and women and even in the home. When we think of prejudice we think of the basic concept of black and white and forget that there are those that are in essence just a little bit different like the man woman or child in a wheelchair, or someone from the gay community. Religious groups or individuals including those who have no religion the list is infinite because we are all different, the biggest challenge in society today, is how do we educate our rapidly changing communities".
